03.07.2007Sagittaria subulata var. pusilla - the Narrow Leaf Sag
This property is highly interesting particularly for aquariums, which should present a uniform grass landscape. For tanks with many different plants the Sagittaria is therefore not so suitable, because it greatly expands and must be permanently removed among the other plants. In a aquarium with grassland, it is extremely easy to care, since there is no need to cut it because of its maximum height of 20 - 30 cm. However, frequently the stock should be thin out broadly in order to rejuvenate the plants. For example it is a good way to free large areas completely of plants allowing Narrow Leaf Sag to reconquer them. The new plants grow on the bare ground an extended period of time much shorter (about 5 cm), so that a very natural impression of an overgrown glade is achieved. © Andreas Jδger |
